Educational Portion of Meeting
Meeting Roles & Responsibilities
Toastmaster - emcees the meeting.
Speaker - gives
a speech from one of Toastmaster International's instructional manuals. Each
speech develops specific skills. The member always selects the topic.
Timer/Grammarian - helps us to communicate our ideas within time
boundaries. Times speeches, Table Topics and evaluations, and notes grammatical
errors.
Speech Evaluator - offers in-depth feedback to the
speaker. This includes organization of speech material, delivery style and vocal
use. He/she encourages the speaker and identifies areas for improvement.
Table Topics Master - composes and asks topical questions to be
answered in 1-2 minutes. This exercise simulates those times when we are
unexpectedly asked to share information with a group.
Table Topics
Evaluator - offers short, concise feedback. Gives helpful suggestions for
improvement, support for good organization and delivery style.
General Evaluator - evaluates the President, officers presenting
reports, the Toastmaster of the evening, Table Topics Master, and all
Evaluators. He/she also offers helpful feedback on the entire meeting.
Guests are welcome to, but are not required to participate in the
meeting.
